The Aleron Subsea Group recently participated in a successful trade mission organised and hosted by Scottish Enterprise last month with a focus on identifying opportunities, making new connections and eventually increasing trade between Scotland and Japan.

Japan is regarded by many as a growing market of opportunity. With a diverse range of commercial markets growing such as renewable energy, methane hydrate extraction, mining, and aquaculture therefore there is an increasing demand for subsea equipment and infrastructure to support this growth. There is no denying that the Japanese have vast amounts of in house capability and experience but there are also shortfalls in their experience and they can benefit from the experience of the oil and gas sector.

The Trade Mission gave delegates the opportunity to present their companies at various events followed by networking at each. Aleron’s Business Development Manager Gary McConnell delivered a series of presentations on our general equipment with a focus on the AUXROV and our tooling and reported back a great deal of enthusiasm and interest from the audiences.

The Mission had a great attendance from other local companies and educational bodies who all delivered a series of inspiring presentations and shared information on how both countries can benefit from a closer relationship.
